about the competition

our vision for 2o21

Carolina Case Challenge is proud to be partnering with Ernst & Young (EY) for our 2021 competition. During Year 3 of the Carolina Case Challenge, we will be shifting the entire competition to a virtual format due to current travel restrictions and health concerns caused by the pandemic.

This virtual format provides our team with the opportunity to increase our programming for competitors, as well as our reach to universities across the country. We remain excited about growing the scale of the competition and look forward to introducing new partner universities in this 3rd year.

We intend to continue providing our diverse group of students an unforgettable experience — one where they can experience a different campus, build their presentation ability and form meaningful friendships with passionate students.

We hope to see you soon!

Signed, Ricky & Colin (2021 Co-Executive Directors)

WINNING TEAMS

Participant teams

CCC2021 was able to expand to more teams than ever in its virtual format, with participants from coast to coast. 15 teams from 9 different universities delivered excellent presentations to a panel of judges from EY and our case sponsor, Biltmore.

Prize Money

For the 1st time at Carolina Case Challenge, we offered cash prize to all 3 teams that place in the competition! These awards were presented by our panel of judges. For CCC 2021, the prize money was allotted as follows:

First Place: $1200

Second Place: $300

Third Place: $100

Scrimmage Event

Another 1st for our event, we introduced the “Scrimmage Case”! Held on April 9th, this is an addition that preceded the official CCC competition. For the scrimmage case, students were placed on a team of 4 students representing 4 different universities. Teams had 5 hours to solve a fun, low-stress case for a Chapel Hill small business client, Epilogue Books, Chocolate, and Brews. This provided an opportunity to connect with students from other universities, while also giving experience casing and presenting virtually before the actual competition.

Thank you to all of our sponsors and participants for a successful event!
