Carolina Case Challenge is proud to be partnering with Deloitte for our 2022 competition. During Year 4 of the Carolina Case Challenge, we hope to return to in-person competition after a virtual year due to the pandemic.
Returning to in person competition allows us to highlight the best parts of CCC - the community. We hope to foster an environment in which students’ competitive spirits flourish alongside their commitment to teamwork, innovation, and camaraderie.
We intend to continue providing our diverse group of students an unforgettable experience — one where they can experience a different campus, build their presentation ability and form meaningful friendships with passionate students.

Winning Teams
CCC22’s case sponsor was Brex, which presented a case about international expansion of a FinTech company. The teams below impressed judges from the client and our firm sponsor, Deloitte, and took home the cash prizes!
CCC2022 Format and Competition Details
Competition Format
The case component for CCC2022 was a day long case that will help address the needs of a real corporate client, to be announced. Representatives from both the client and Deloitte consultants will serve as judges for the competition.
Location & Dates
All events and programing associated with CCC2022 was held in-person at the Kenan-Flagler Business School from April 7th-9th. We continually monitored the impacts of COVID-19 in Chapel Hill.
Prize Money
Once again, Carolina Case Challenge offered a cash prize to all 3 teams that place in the competition! These awards were presented by our panel of judges. For CCC 2022, the prize money was allotted as follows:
First Place: $1200
Second Place: $300
Third Place: $100
All cash prizes are distributed within two weeks post-competition and evenly distributed amongst each member on the team.
Additional Programming
Because we have the opportunity to hold CCC2022 in person, competing teams have more opportunities to connect and network with their peers and firm representatives. This includes social event on Thursday evening, a Firm Dinner with Deloitte and De-Stress event on Friday evening, and an Awards Ceremony Luncheon on Saturday, along with informal breaks and meetings throughout the weekend.
Official application, Rulebook, and Rubric
All applications must be submitted by 3/3 and will be reviewed on a rolling basis and teams will be selected based off the quality of application materials by a committee of UNC Kenan-Flagler faculty and staff, Deloitte consultants, and the Co-Executive Directors of the competition. Rulebook will be updated and posted closer to the event; copies of the 2021 documents are included here for reference.

Do we cover transportation and lodging costs?
No, transportation and hotels are the financial responsibility of the participating universities. We will provide a list of the hotel options nearby and work to make your time here as enjoyable as can be.
How is COVID-19 going to factor in?
The competition will be in-person as well as additional in-person programming. We will follow all COVID-19 precautions set by the UNC system as well as the broader Orange County Government
We will require masks during all indoor activities. Social distancing will be recommended when possible. We are committed to providing an enriching and safe experience for all of our participants.
How will prize money be distributed?
All cash prizes will be distributed within two weeks post-competition and evenly distributed amongst each member on the team.
How will Deloitte be involved?
Deloitte has generously agreed to sponsor our event which will entail them being present as our judges. Along with this participants will have an opportunity to meet our Deloitte reps during our first-night dinner.
